Toad in the Hole
Toad in the Hole might not sound too appealing but believe me it’s much more tasty than the name suggests. No its not some warty amphibian served up on a plate (although we are not entirely sure what is in the sausages – lets face it!) this dish is one of the more popular of the traditional English pub meals. Toad in the hole is usually a pair of pork sausages or bangers grilled to perfection then placed inside a puff pastry bowl called a Yorkshire Pudding along with a dob of mashed potato. The whole concoction is then smothered in rich onion gravy with plenty of onion pieces and served it. As we mentioned the dish is a very popular pub meal in the UK but can be found on many menu boards in English and Irish themed pubs look out for it as it is delicious.
